Methodology
Every ranking on Sindexed is ordered by Heat, a platform's latest monthly US organic search traffic, pulled from Semrush and indexed 0 to 100 against the leader in its category on a log scale. It is not an editorial opinion score. Independent safety and transparency verification is being built next; until it ships, we don't show a safety score we can't back up.
What Heat measures
Heat is a site's most recent monthly US organic search-driven traffic (visits that landed on the site from unpaid search results) as reported by Semrush. We take the raw monthly visit count for every site in a category, find the highest number (the category leader), and index every other site against it on a 0 to 100 scale.
Data was last pulled 2026-07-01 and refreshes on a monthly cadence going forward. The raw dataset backing every bar on this site lives in a single file (data/heat.json) so rankings can be audited and re-derived, not taken on faith.
The formula: why log scale, not linear
heatIndex = round(100 * ln(visits + 1) / ln(leaderVisits + 1)). In plain terms: we take the natural log of a site's visits, divide by the natural log of the category leader's visits, and multiply by 100. A straight linear index (visits divided by leader visits) would crush every site below the leader down near zero, since the leader in most categories outdraws the next-closest competitor by 10x or more. The log transform keeps mid-sized and smaller platforms visually distinguishable from each other on the bar, not just flattened against the leader. We still publish the raw monthly visit estimate next to the bar wherever we have one, so nothing is hidden behind the index.
What Heat doesn't measure
- Direct traffic: visitors who typed the URL in or came from a bookmark. Some platforms (subscription cam sites, for instance) get a large share of return visits this way; Heat won't reflect that.
- Social and referral traffic: visits arriving from Reddit threads, Discord links, X/Twitter, or other sites linking in. Heat only counts organic search.
- App traffic, paid/ad traffic, and international (non-US) search volume, all excluded by design so the number stays comparable across sites.
- Content quality, safety, or trustworthiness. A high-Heat site is a heavily-searched site, not necessarily a safe or well-run one. That's a separate axis we cover below.
When a site shows "Insufficient data"
Some listed platforms don't register measurable US organic search volume in Semrush, usually because they're small, invite-only, or primarily reached through direct/social channels rather than search. Rather than guess or show an empty bar, we mark these "Insufficient data" and rank them below every site with a real number. We never fabricate a placeholder Heat score.
Safety verification: rolling out
Heat tells you how much a platform gets searched. It doesn't tell you whether it's safe to use. We're building a separate, independent verification pass for that, and we're not going to publish scores for it until the work is actually done. Here's what it will check once it ships:
- HTTPS enforcement and basic transport security on every listed domain.
- Pop-up and redirect intensity encountered during a real, manual visit, not a scanner report.
- Known malware or phishing flags from public threat-intelligence sources.
- Ownership and operator disclosure: whether the entity behind a platform is identifiable via terms pages, public filings, or WHOIS records.
- Content labeling and licensing status, where applicable to the category (AI-generated vs. filmed, licensed vs. user-uploaded, etc.).
Until this rolls out site by site, review pages show Heat and factual pricing details only. No listing on Sindexed carries a fabricated safety score, and none will until this process has actually run against it.
Ownership disclosure
Sindexed and Mistrezz.ai share an owner. Mistrezz.ai is labeled "Founder's Build" wherever it appears and carries the same ownership disclosure both in its featured slot and at its real position in the honest, Heat-ranked list. Its rank is computed with the identical formula applied to every other listed site; it is never moved up or down manually.
What we don't do
- We don't fabricate Heat numbers, safety scores, or review verdicts.
- We don't accept payment in exchange for a higher rank or a better score.
- We don't claim "official" status for any listed platform.
- We disclose affiliate relationships on every page with commercial links, see editorial policy.
